The Country Gentlemen Show is a premium, high-energy touring tribute dedicated to preserving and executing the historic musical legacy of International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame inductees, Charlie Waller & The Country Gentlemen. Originally formed in 1957 in the Washington, D.C. area, the original Country Gentlemen revolutionized bluegrass by bridging the gap between rigid traditional mountain styles and modern folk-pop finesse. The Country Gentlemen Show was originally born out of a successful studio recording collaboration with late, long-time "Gents" alumnus Bill Yates. Rather than serving as a simple cover band, "The Show" acts as the formal custodians of this material. They breathe fresh life into iconic 1960s thru 1980s vocal arrangements, driving multi-part harmonies, and complex acoustic instrumentation with unmatched authority.
The five-piece ensemble brings together decorated veterans who have spent decades performing at the highest levels of bluegrass, Grand Ole Opry stages, and national recording circuits.
Mike Phipps (Guitar & Lead Vocals): Band leader and the core vocal anchor of the show. Growing up in Owings, Maryland, Phipps’ lifelong admiration of Charlie Waller’s unmistakable baritone delivery led directly to his collaboration with Bill Yates and the eventual launch of the tribute
Darren Beachley (Resophonic Guitar / Dobro & Vocals): A powerhouse vocalist and veteran multi-instrumentalist. Beachley has spent decades touring nationally, including a major tenure as a lead vocalist and instrumentalist with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, and consistently releases chart-topping solo and collaborative Americana material
Lynwood Lunsford (Banjo & Vocals): An elite, driving traditional banjo stylist who anchors the band's blistering syncopation, he's a former member of Jimmy Martin's Sunny Mountain Boys and The Lost and Found.
Wayne Lanham (Mandolin, Fiddle & Vocals): A highly flexible multi-instrumentalist who expertly manages the mandolin work and critical rapid acoustic fill-work, and vocal variance needed for the classic Gents repertoire. Wayne formerly worked with Country Gentlemen founder, Bill Emerson.
Eric Marshall (Upright Bass & Vocals): The rhythmic foundation of the ensemble, providing pristine timekeeping and the low-end vocal depth required for authentic traditional bluegrass tracking. Eric has written songs for several groups including his last band Carson Peters & Iron Mountain

For the Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin and the Dobro, condenser mics are preferred , Dobro will in most cases carry his own Mic. Vocal Mics SM58's are fine or something of the like. Vocals should carry slight reverb, Lead vocal should a little hotter than the rest in the mix. Dobro requires medium reverb. Bass will have his amp, No bass in the monitors.
